The Chicago Air and Water Show was about two weeks ago, and we had front row seats on our 43rd floor balcony! The show was technically Saturday and Sunday, but they did full dress rehearsals the two days before, so we had 4 straight days of fighter jets buzzing the building. The Blue Angels were certainly the highlight, flying less than 100 feet above the top of our building on their way towards the lake -- LOUD! (Laura and some others ducked, understandably). They're flying at about 500 feet in this shot. Big thanks to Lo and Tyler for coming by to join the party!

EXCELLANT! You know the Blue Angels have a soft spot in my heart. My Dad is a Navy vet and when he worked at NASA, he met most of "the Angels"....even brought one over for dinner once. A few of them ended up in the space program as well. Your picture gives me a little lump in my throat- the guy that came to dinner was in the number 5 plane which crashed during an airshow- collided with the #6 plane. Sadly, the pilot- Dick Oliver was killed. Just beautiful Dan- thanks.......
See Jim- never give up hope!
Who are you and why have you taken over my son's photoblog?
Just thought if I shared a bit, he may share a bit more.....sorry for going on and on.....come on Dan...keep the hits coming!
Diane!
I wasn't referring to you as the phantom who's taken over Dan's blog but rather the stranger who posted this picture of the Blue Angels. Couldn't imagine that Dan posted this picture since it's been so long since he posted one.
Jim
Ahhhhh, NOW I get it! Still- I think you and I HAVE taken over his blog! We certainly are more active! Hopefully we can make the host of the blog try to beat us!
